3rd Golden Kela Awards 2011

The Golden Kela Awards is a satirical take on Bollywood, where awards are given for the worst performances. The Golden Kela Awards was created by Random Magazine, India’s longest running humor magazine in the year 2009. Winners receive an award in the shape of a golden banana (kela in Hindi). The 1st Annual Golden Kela Awards 2008 were announced at a ceremony took place on 7 March 2009 in New Delhi (India). The intention behind the Golden Kela is to ridicule the Hindi film stars and acknowledge the worst of Indian cinema. Since several award ceremonies each year celebrate the best of Hindi cinema, Random Magazine and the Sundaas Film Institute chose to be different by giving away the Best of the Worst of Indian Cinema.
The winners are selected each year by an online poll.

The 3rd Annual Golden Kela Awards were announced at a ceremony on 12 March 2011 at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. The winners included Shahrukh Khan- the worst actor for My Name Is Khan, Sonam Kapoor - the worst actress for Aisha, Sanjay Leela Bhansali – the worst director for Guzaarish and My Name is Khan – the worst movie. There was also a special category of Anti-Kela awards for good movies. Those awarded in this category were Udaan, Ishqiya, Love Sex aur Dhokha, Do Dooni Chaar, Peepli Live and Tere Bin Laden.
